A Nigerian political blogger and the owner of abusidiqu.com, Abubakar Sidiqu has been arrested by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
He was reportedly picked up at his residence in the early hours of Monday morning. A few sources have indicated he was picked up as a result of an article he published criticizing the EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu and some senior officials of the anti-corruption body.
There has been no official reaction from the EFCC but the hashtag #FreeAbuSidiqu is already trending on Twitter.
