Army takes over major roads, as Edo governorship poll holds

 

There is heavy security deployment across Edo Central senatorial zone as the people of the area trooped out in their numbers to participate in the governorship poll.
From Akpakpava Road in Benin City in the state capital to Ekpoma in Esan West local government area there were about 10 security checks. While from Ekpoma to Uromi Esan North East local government Area there were another 10 security checks. All the security checks are been manned by military personnels.

The army officers barricaded the road with tyres and wood. Motorists were asked to identify themselves while their vehicles checked before they were allowed to pass.
