Bayern Munich did not only kick-off their Champions League season in grand style, the Carlo Ancelotti’s side also broke a Champions League record that Manchester United have held for eight years.

Bayern picked up their 13th consecutive home victory in UCL with a 5-0 win over Rostov, beating the run of 12 straight successes by Man Utd.
The victory saw the Bundesliga champions pick up their 13th consecutive home victory in the competiton, beating the run of 12 straight successes that the Red Devils were able to muster between 2006-08.
Bayern have not lost on home soil in the European competition since their 4-0 reverse at the hands of Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the 2013-14 competition.
The Bavarians are also on a record run of victories on matchday one having won 13 of their first group games in a row after losing to Deportivo La Coruna back in 2002.
This makes it two record-breaking runs for Ancelotti’s side in the competition.
