Justice Okoro Inyang and Justice Sylvester Ngwuta both of the Supreme Court had fingered Amaechi in an alleged bribery and corruption scandal.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Samuel Wanosike said the party in the state has been justified about its argument that the former governor allegedly misappropriated state funds.
He, however, called for the resignation of Amaechi as the Minister of Transportation, adding that his resignation will give room for proper investigation of the allegations.
“We of the PDP in Rivers state have been vindicated. We are not
surprised because we knew Amaechi was stingingly corrupt. Under his
watch over three points, something close to trillion was misused.
“We as a party are asking Amaechi to resign so that he can be properly investigated. We are asking President Mohammadu Buhari to please do the needful for Nigerians,” Wanosike said.
