Imo lawmakers disagree over N3, 000 devt levy

  

Lawmakers of the Imo State House of Assembly yesterday disagreed among themselves over the introduction of N3,000 development levy by the government.
What looks like a chaotic situation at the plenary started when the member Representing Aboh Mbaise State Constituency, Hon Mike Iheanetu conveyed the message of his constituents that the policy “ was unacceptable to them.“

“They expressed worry over the N3,000 development levy. Mr Speaker, they said it is difficult for them to pay in this time of recession and it is painful. They also said there is hunger and they are battling to survive the difficult period in the country. “
