Former presidential adviser on Niger Delta and chairman, Presidential
Amnesty Programme, Hon Kingsley Kuku has reportedly formally endorsed
the ambition of Chief Olusola Oke of the Alliance For Democracy (AD).
President Muhammdu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress
(APC) have been accused of intimidating AD members ahead of Saturday’s
governorship election in Ondo state.
Former presidential adviser on Niger Delta and chairman, Presidential
Amnesty Programme, Hon Kingsley Kuku has reportedly formally endorsed
the ambition of Chief Olusola Oke of the Alliance For Democracy (AD).
Kuku, a member of the PDP had distanced himself from the two factions
of the PDP in August was reported to be among those who pressurised Oke
to go the way of AD after he lost out in the September 3 APC
governorship primary.
Already, posters of both Oke and Kuku have flooded Ese-Odo, Kuku’s
local government a few days to the poll with the inscription “It pleases
God Almighty to fulfill this unfinished work.
I was with you, still I am today.’’ Report also said Mr Kuku was also
the major financier of Oke’s governorship project in 2012 when he ran
against Governor Olusegun Mimiko of the Labour Party as well as Chief
Oluwarotimi Akeredolu then of the Action Congress of Nigeria ( ACN).
Akeredolu now runs as standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress ( APC).
Meanwhile, President Muhammdu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives
Congress (APC) have been accused of intimidating AD members ahead of
Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo state.
According to the AD, the party’s attention was “drawn to undemocratic
and diversionary tactics employed by a cabal in the southwest, led by a
former governor of Ekiti State and his Ogun state counterpart.
” Mr Akindele Adeyi, a party chieftain who spoke on behalf of the
party accused the APC leaders of plotting to destabilise the peace and
communal cooperation in the state, by using security operatives to
instigate political conflicts against them.

“The sad experience of the aftermath of the 1983 governorship election in the state brings to the fore the divisive and violent tendencies that the APC has planned,”
